Ethan grew up in Houston, Texas, where he began his athletic journey in select travel baseball. During 7th grade, he was introduced to lacrosse through a school P.E. class and quickly transitioned from baseball to lacrosse. He continued to develop his skills in lacrosse throughout middle school and at Strake Jesuit High School, although he had to sit out one year due to an injury. After high school, despite receiving opportunities to play NCAA Division II and III lacrosse, Ethan chose to prioritize his academic pursuits. He attended Texas Tech University, earning dual Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Mandarin Chinese, while also competing in MCLA Division I lacrosse. Following his graduation during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ethan returned to Houston, where he began his coaching career at Pershing Middle School, thanks to a recommendation from a former teammate. He is now The Defensive Coordinator for Strake Jesuit High School, and coaches the Houston Lacrosse Club 33s.
